Gods Servants….Customer Service….or No
Service?”
“Since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show
gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence
and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrew 12:28, 29 NASB)
How do you rate your “service” to God? Or perhaps a better question might
be; how does God rate your service to Him? For just a few minutes I would
like to take this out of the biblical context and talk in terms daily life
on planet earth. How many times have you asked to speak to a customer
service representative only to be put through to voice mail, never to hear
from the company again until the next bill comes? At times it’s as though we
live in the “Customer NO Service” era. How many times has God asked
something of you, only to get a busy signal, voice mail, or no response?
When you think about it, how would God rate your service to Him? Is it
service or NO Service?
As we go about our daily lives, let ‘s remember we are serving a living God
who came to this earth to not only seek and save the lost, but also to show
us how serve one another and Him. Let’s remember that it is in Him that we
live and breathe and have our being! It is not the other way around! “Our
God is a consuming fire”!
We are given an exhortation by Paul to “See to it that you do not refuse Him
who speaks. For if they did not escape when they refused Him who spoke on
earth, much less shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who warns
(speaks) from heaven. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has
promised saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also
heaven.” And this expression, ”Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those
things which can be shaken, as of created things, in order that those things
which cannot be shaken will remain. (Hebrews 12:25, 26,27 NKJ)
Let’s examine ourselves before the Lord and see that we our service is
filled with gratitude, reverence, obedience, and awe!
