Anne's Message for Easter

As I think about this climatic time in history as Jesus is to face the cross, when, quite literally, the whole weight of the world and its sin was to be upon Jesus, the verses that comes to my mind over & over are from Philippians 2: 7..made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death on the cross. Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Chris is Lord, to the glory of the Father. Halleluiah!!! As we look to the cross this week, let us remember that it is Gods mercy and grace toward lost, sinful, hopeless mankind that allowed Jesus, His Son, to come to this earth, to live among us, to show His great love by the sacrifice of His perfect Son, and to conquer the Satan and his army, the enemy of God and humanity. Oh, to capture a glimpse of this triumph changes our lives and causes us to lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Looking unto the Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrew 12:1,2) Praise the Lord!!! Who for the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross . Can you imagine that?! For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross. He knew the outcome if he didn't give in to the torment of fear of failure, pain, loss of life, loss of love and support from His disciples, and most of all loss of the love of His Father! He overcame so we can overcome! Anne Musgrove
